We have been busy throughout October with lots of horses coming and going, Tonka and Molly who we have broken in have both gone home for a bit of a break over the winter but hopefully will be back in the spring to carry on their education. We have had a few horses in for working holidays while their owners have gone away, all have been lovely horses who seemed to enjoy their stay with us here at Little Garendon.
We have been up to Markfield for the first time of many over the winter, the first time we went, I took Chester and Posh, I felt that I did not ride well and let the horses down but we took Chester and Darcy again at the week end and I felt that I rode well and both horses jumped really well, Chester just had the last down in the jump off of the 90cm open, we just got a bit deep and touched it behind, Darcy was fab as I was planning to jump round the unaffiliated 75cm class as she has not been out jumping since we tried her in June, but it wasn't running as they had a qualifier so I jumped her on a ticket in the 90cm, she jumped fab just had one down where she just got a bit disorganised in her canter.
Mum and Cherise have had a couple of brilliant days out with the Quorn Hunt, they took Chester and Darcy to the fun ride at Prestwold both jumped everything that was asked of them and yesterday went to the meet at The Wheatsheaf Inn at Woodhouse Eaves, it was a lovely meet. Mum took Thomas who was pleased to be out and Cherise took Chester who was a very good boy.
