We had our second event on Saturday at Aston le Walls, both Tex and George were doing their first 1m class. George was on first, his dressage was obedient and accurate but I am playing with nosebands at the moment and he was a bit fiddly in his mouth so think will go back to the drop for the dressage but we scored a fair mark of 36.5, his show jumping was a foot perfect clear round, on paper the cross country didn't look good but I was a lot more pleased with him this time, from having a slightly chequered past he lacks trust in the rider and when there is a question he says he can't cope rather than let the rider help him, but this time he came round quickly and popped through the questions like a pro and this time he felt like he really enjoyed himself, so hopefully with more schooling and a few more runs he will begin to trust me. Tex was a star again, he was a bit tense in the dressage scoring 38.5 he show jumped well but had eight faults one just unlucky and the other a bit of lack of concentration, I was really chuffed with him cross country as for the first time he really went forwards with out me having to coax every stride out of him and he jumped really well and answered all questions asked of him.
Today we have been show jumping at Weston Lawns with Rogey and Darcy, Rogey was a really good girl at her second show she just had a green four faults in both jump offs, Darcy jumped a great double clear in the British Novice finishing just out of the places.
Back at Little Garendon it's been really busy, we have three holiday liveries in and one schooling livery. Max has settled really well in to his new home which is lovely to hear.
