We had a busy week last week. On Tuesday we went out hunting with the Quorn, as usual it was a lovely meet at The Wheatsheaf in Woodhouse Eves which is run by Richard and Bridgett Dimblebee, it is also where Cherise works when she is not doing the horses!! We had a lovely day I rode a horse for someone else as they were away on holiday and wanted the horse taking out, he is a brilliantly mannered hunter so it was a real pleasure for me. Mum took Thomas who was very pleased to be out and is looking and feeling brilliant for a 24yr old! Cherise took Chester as far as we know this was his first time out, he was a bit gob smacked but very excited by it all but we think will be a brilliant hunter after a couple more times out.
On Wednesday I took Toffee to Arena UK at Grantham for there three day Halloween Show, she has not jumped much indoors so it was a really good education for her as it was a very spooky arena with lots of pumpkins and witches!! She went a little green in her first class the 85cm open, but jumped a really good double clear in the 95cm open which was good enough for 17th which was brilliant in a class of about 100 and also meant she won her entry fees back which is always good. It was the first time she has stayed away but settled very quickly in to the temprorary stables and on the following day she just had one down in the jump off of the 85cm and then jumped a brilliant double clear in the 95cm it was definitely the biggest course she has done in the jump off and she made it look easy and finished 15th again good enough to win her entry fees back. We must say a big thank you to Liberty Bramwell who does a fantastic job jumping Toffee for us and the rest of her family who looked after at the show when we weren't there.
