We haven't been out anywhere competing this week but have been busy at home, all the horses are working really well at the moment, I did a Charity Fashion Show on Monday and got a few more orders for belts to keep me busy. I have been busy teaching nearly everyday this week, its really nice to see everyone improving they have obviously been working hard in between lessons which is great when you know people have really listened and taken it on board so when you see them the next time they have really improved. I have to admit that I did manage to watch quite a lot of Cheltenham the racing was fantastic with some fantastic horses, though I did manage to back most of the losers! I had a lovely text today from Fred's owners (we sold him Oct 2011) to say they had had a brilliant day coming 2nd and 4th in their competition, it great when you hear a horse you have sold is really enjoying their life in the new home. Hopefully be going out show jumping next week with Posh and Flo lets hope all the practice shows when we get in the ring!!
Yay was great to be out at our first event of the season, and the rain held off till the journey home. As usual Flo was fab, her dressage test was very accurate and obedient but just felt a little tense think she was very pleased to be out eventing, she jumped a really good double clear to just add four time faults to her dressage score
We have had another good week, Mum and Cherise had a good day out hunting on Tuesday with the Quorn Hunt, It was a lovely meet hosted by Mr and Mrs J Wilson at Blackhill Farm as usual they were fantastic Hosts, both Thomas and Chester thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We took Posh and Flo jumping to Markfield on Thursday, both were very good girls, Posh was 2nd in 1.05m and jumped clear in the 1.15m it is the first time I have jumped the 1.15m on her for a while she was a little tense but jumped well, Flo jumped really well just had one down in the Newcomers but it was rider error as I know if I don't ride her forward in the distances she can find them a bit long and I just didn't ride forwards enough on landing and just tipped one fence, but other than that one fence she felt amazing. I had a busy day Saturday teaching the Quorn Pony Club which as usual I thoroughly enjoyed. We were off out again today to Vale View British Dressage Show, I was really pleased with both of them I thought Posh went the best she has gone in our first test Elementary 40, but unfortunately the judge was marking quite harsh so although we finished 3rd we only scored 63.5%, in the second test she did the best trot work we have ever done but got a bit tense in the canter so we got a fair mark of 62.5 which was good enough for equal 2nd with Flo who did a really good test and I felt she should have got a better mark but hey ho! I was really pleased with them both.
